Acme Legal helps small businesses with the legal work they actually encounter — the contract a client has sent over, the terms that were copied off a website years ago, the supplier who has stopped paying. We are a three-solicitor practice working with sole traders, freelancers and businesses up to about twenty staff. We do not do criminal work, conveyancing or family law, and we will say so quickly rather than take the fee.

Everything we offer is fixed-fee and quoted before we start. Nobody wants a bill that grows while they wait for it, so we do not use hourly rates for the work listed here. If a matter turns out to be bigger than the fixed fee covers, we tell you before we do the extra work, not afterwards. Larger or ongoing matters are quoted individually, and we are happy to say when something is cheap enough to not be worth involving us in at all.

Most of our clients come to us having already signed something they did not fully read. That is the normal way round, and it is rarely fatal. A Contract Review at £150 covers one commercial contract, returned within five working days with the risks marked in plain English and a note on which points are genuinely worth pushing back on. Terms Drafting at £400 produces terms and conditions built around how you really trade rather than a template. The £95 Legal Healthcheck is an hour on the phone and a written summary of where you are exposed — most people take that first.
